Secrets in the Treetops

Mr. Green swiveled around in his chair to face us as we entered. “Last night three little girls disappeared from the local children’s home,” he said matter-of-factly. “Kidnapped. The same one you were from, Emily.”

“Oh dear,” Mom groaned. “Three in one night! Have they caught the kidnapper yet?”

“No. But when they do, the kidnapper will have a lot of explaining to do, and will be in jail for a long time,” said Dad grimly. “It’s a huge crime to break into the home and take away helpless little toddlers and babies.”

Yikes! Emily and her friends are in big trouble. The book Adventures in the Treehouse is full of secrets, suspense, and surprises. But when your Dad is a skilled detective, matters can quickly get very complicated.

Ever had a big secret and just don't know who to tell? Actually, you have lots of options. You can pray about it. You could also share your problems with friends. But don't forget to talk with your parents. Sometimes a secret seems too big even to share with them, but most times, you'll be glad if you do.
